Sacred Dance

1. Tektekan dance Festival often held at Puri Anyar Kerambitan, a residence of Tabanan in the Royal Family. Tektekan is a bamboo orchestra when struck it produces ‘tek tek’ sounds. Dances portrays the famous Balinese story named Calonarang

2. Tari Baris Cina
 Only performed inner court  the Temple, not for tourist attraction.
Baris Cina dance performance always begins with a ceremony presided over by Local Priest. After the ceremony performed, the musicians began to play with the Gong. Followed by the appearance of a group of Baris selem( black). The second session is turn with the baris putih(white) showing their skill in playing their sword moves. At the last session is a part where the two groups of dancers faced and ready to fight. At the peak of this session will experience trance dancers are usually continued with their dance and trance dagger to stab him. miraculously none of them were injured.



3. Sang Hyang Jaran / Lord Of Horse, trance Dance
Danced by a man who ride a rocking horse made ​​of coconut leaf midrib. Sang Hyang Dedari, this dance have has the power to invite the gods or Holy spirits to enter the body of the dancers and put them in a state of trance, danced by young Girls who considered virgins. The ceremony begins at the temple, the procession walked to the event. The dancer stands accompanied by singer boys, and similar Legong dance, but in a mystical version. Although their eyes closed, they danced together in a synchronized movement and beautiful. When the singing stops, the dancers jump unconscious to the ground. The priest awaken then to say a prayer and sprinkle holy water. Once aware, they get tired, but did not realize had a lot of moving and dancing.Sang Hyang Dedari dance evolved from a complex religious rituals of the health and welfare of the village begging. This dance is usually performed to ward off evil spirits that disturb the harmony of mankind in the form of illness or death. This dance is performed when the gods were down for a while to human nature, revealed through the trance dancers. The word Sang Hyang meaningful  gods ( Lord or shine of supreme of God) while Dedari word that means is an angel
3. Sanghyang Deling
Deling dance danced by a pair of girls who are minors, dance into the spirit of Lord Vishnu or Dewi Sri (Goddess) symbolizing fertility. hung with two dolls called Deling made from palm leaves. The more violent the movement of two dancers deling sprit signifies both dancers have entered the body, the purpose of this dance is to apply the salvation. This dance originated from the village of Kintamani Bangli
4. Sanghyang Bojog / Mongkey
Dance Trance of Bojog (monkey) danced by a man with a dress like a monkey . Before calling the spirits of monkeys with certain ceremonies and singing, having possessed the power of spirit, dancer then jumping on top of the tree moves like a monkey, it is sometimes difficult to imitate human movement. Sang Hyang Bojog Dance only exist in Karangasem regency
5. Sanghyang sampat
Trance Dance of Sampat occurs because the dancers are a girl possessed by spirits with a broom stick intermediaries sampat (sampat) which move freely left and right. There is also a type of dance that intermediary using piece of bamboo.
6. Sanghyang celeng / Pig
Trance Dance of Boars were danced by a man with a dress made ​​of fibers that resemble pigs. After the dancers entered by the spirit, the dancers will crawl mimic the behavior of a pig. This dance is located in the village of Karangasem regency, Duda Village

Wayang Wong

Wayang Wong  
Basically the art of mask and puppetry performances by human actors or people (wong).  
In bringing the playable characters, all the dancers in dialogue of Kawi language while wearing clown Balinese language
In some parts of the show, the dancers also sing  Kakawin ( song of praise to the gods by the ancient Javanese language/ Kawi ) there are two types Wayang Wong,  
 
Wayang Wong Ramayana and Wayang Wong Parwa.  
Wayang Wong Ramayana is the only dramatari puppetry take wira carita (story ) of Ramayana.  
Almost all the dancers wear masks. Accompanied by gamelan Batel Puppet barreled Slendro. Wayang wong can be found in the village of:
      
Mas, Telepud, Den Tiyis (Gianyar),
Marga, Apuan, Appoints, Klating (Tabanan),
Sulahan (Bangli),
Central Wates (Karangasem),
Bualu (Badung),
 Prancak, Batuagung (Jembrana)
 
Wayang Wong Parwa, 
Parwa commonly called the wayang wong Ksatria/ nobelty
who took the play carita ( story) of  Mahabharata (Asta Dasa Parwa). 
The dancers usually do not wear masks, but the clown, as Malen, Merdah, Sanggut, Delem.  
Accompanied by gamelan Batel Puppet barreled Slendro
Parwa present in the villages of :
     Sukawati, Teges, Pujung (Gianyar)
     Blahkiuh (Badung).

Joged Bumbung

Joged Bumbung is a very popular as a social dance in Bali, this dance has a  free movement pattern, agile and dynamic, which is taken from the Legong Dance and Kebyar and sung in improvisation.

Usually performed after the harvest season, holidays, and other important days. Joged dance is dance in pairs, male and female, inviting audience participation. This dance also requires agility and eye gestures of the dancers, with the occasional rock style dangdut dancers.
